When a Ukrainian rock band wants to record their album, where do they go? Do they go down the street to their local recording studio, or fly to Paris or the UK? No—they come to America; specifically they come to California Sound Studios in Lake Forest, CA.
Ukrainian nationals Endvice are here in the studio each night, self-producing their latest album. Don’t let their MySpace default intimidate you, but don’t underestimate them either from their broken English band bio; Endvice is here to rock.
Though few tasks are more daunting than interviewing a non-English speaking band from northern Europe, we will sit down with members of Endvice—and their translator of course—to discover more about these Ukrainian boys, their music, and what drew them to Orange County to record their album.
Also in the studio is Cirious & D-Lux, a reggae R&B band recently signed onto Wright Records. They’re here with California Sound Studios’ newest engineer Dominic Cammerota: “they’ve been coming up fast and doing a lot of good things for Orange County. Cirious & D-Lux provide good positive music for the people. Look for them coming up, the album’s set for Spring 2010 release.” We’ll sit down with the guys within the week for details on the band and the album.
Tomorrow we will be interviewing James Kottak of the Scorpions and his latest band, Kottak. James will be joined by Athena Bass, Kottak’s drummer while he steps up to lead vocal.
