Eric Doffoney and Megan Jade are Never Too Late, a musical duo constructed of a male deejay and female vocalist.

The DJ, Doffoney, goes by H-Breaker and grew up in Fresno, California where he has been making beats on his keyboards since 8th grade. He is now a full blown deejay with Serato equipment.

"It's easier to use because I don't need any crates - I can just carry my latop and two vinyls," Doffoney said in an interview.

Jade grew up on the east coast in Pennsylvania; she started singing before she even started talking. Jade has always loved performing and has participated in plays and musicals her whole life.

After meeting only a couple months ago, Doffoney and Jade put their talents together through "Never Too Late". Doffoney said the groups name means "it's never too late to go out, have fun and spend time with your friends," while Jade said "it's never too late to get into music and build your dreams."

Their music entails high energy, electro-style club music. They laughed and agreed that their songs could easily fall into a whole new genre altogether: techno-club-pop. They both would love to have their music played in clubs; however to Jade, its more personal than that.

Jade grew up listening to musicians such as Dido, Portishead, Damien Rice and the Killers - each with a message to their audience. Jade enjoys songs that have moving lyrics, words that reach out and touch people's hearts. This is why she writes her own lyrics, and together with Doffoney's deejaying, sings from her heart.

As for Doffoney, his inspirations stem from legendary artists such as Quincy Jones, Dr. Dre and Farrell. How the music sounds itself is very important to him. Doffoney has always loved Quincy Jones in regards to his beats and agrees that though Dr. Dre is a bit hard, he has "been in the game a long time...I respect that."

When practicing and recording together, Jade listens to Doffoney's beats and begins singing. Occassionally, Doffoney throws in a couple lines of his own. Sometimes he freestyles, other times he writes it down and adds it to a song while recording. "The important thing is to bounce ideas off each other," the duo said.

Together with Doffoney's love for sound and Jade's softer edge and melodic lyrics, they hope to not only have people dancing on the floor, but understanding a message as well. To Doffoney and Jade, there is no limit on how their audience may grow. They would be happy if their fans were people that like music, like to have fun and feel the beat.

Never Too Late had their first gig on Friday, February 12th at an art exhibit called Shuffle in Fullerton. The exhibit's theme was "Music is Art and Art is Music" and Never Too Late opened the show.

The duo also hopes to have their first recorded CD release in April 2010.
